From Plot to Panel: Writing and Drawing for Comics
Do you love to write and/or draw? Learn to combine the two to create dynamic stories with colourful images! This is a 4-week workshop designed to explore the techniques and stages of comic book graphics and writing.
Comic enthusiasts will move towards developing a complete comic page and will gain the knowledge and confidence to move forward with creating POW! BAM! BOOM! stories on their own.
Anyone with a passion for comics is encouraged to take this class, but the recommended age range is 10-15 years old.

About the Instructors
Rob Hickey
Rob is an illustrator living in Fort McMurray. They fell in love with comics by reading webcomics as a teen, and in 2015, graduated with an Illustration for Sequential Arts diploma. They believe comics can be a fun and accessible medium and looks forward to helping others discover their love for comics! In their free time, Rob likes to take naps in sunbeams with their two cats.
Samson Nand
Samson Nand is a local playwright, actor, director and musician originally from Sparwood, British Columbia. As a resident of Fort McMurray, Samson made his acting debut in What Time Does the 3 O’Clock Parade Start which was directed by Mike Jones for the ADFA Acting Out One-Act Theatre Festival In 2019. Some plays written by Samson are Say Yes (2019) Me, Myself and Sid (2020) and a hip hop musical titled Babar and the American (2021.)
