Have you always wanted to try theatre but never knew where to start?
Look no further!
This Youth Acting Training series is a collection of workshops designed to help build the skills and confidence levels of new theatre performers.
The workshops focus on voice, movement, improvisation, character building, text work, and more. The goal of these workshops is to provide young people who have a budding interest in the performing arts with a basic understanding of how a performer prepares before they take their first step on stage.
The lessons in these workshops will be taught through various games, exercises, and activities designed to cultivate a safe and fun learning environment.
This program is lead by theatre artist Justin Shaw. Shaw is the Artistic Director of Theatre; Just Because, and leads the Youth Play Program at the Suncor Energy Centre for the Performing Arts. He’s a passionate advocate for youth getting involved in the performing arts, and strives for them to be bold and take creative risks. Shaw is received his training at the National Theatre School of Canada.
This 7-week program will run on Thursdays from 7:00pm-9:00pm starting September 19th (last class will take place on Saturday October 26th leading into the Youth Play Production)
$125/student (GST will be applied to those over age 14)
