Alexandra is a born and raised Fort McMurrayite and is no stranger to the performing arts. She first appeared on Keyano Theatre Main Stage as the Dutch Girl in Miracle on 34th Street when she was 10 years old. She has since performed in over 20 plays and Musicals including Roxie Hart in Chicago, Corey-Lynn Valentine in Fanny and Manny Tie the Knot Dinner Theatre, and Tanya in Mamma Mia. Her love of acting led her to earn her Diploma in Visual and Performing Arts – Drama from Keyano College. From there, she moved on to Grant MacEwan University where she received a Diploma in Arts & Cultural Management.
On top of acting, Alexandra’s other passion is dance. She started dancing at 11 years old at Taylor Dance Studio, and then moved to Keyano Conservatory dance program to study Modern, Jazz, and Ballet. She started teaching dance in 2008 at the Keyano Conservatory. In 2011 Alexandra was hired by the Fort McMurray Catholic School District to join a new team operating the Suncor Energy Centre for the Performing Arts, and in 2012 helped open UpTown! at SECPA, where she has been teaching until the birth of her daughter in 2022.
Alexandra’s passion for the performing arts led her to join the volunteer board of directors for Arts Council Wood Buffalo in 2018, where she has sat on the board for 5 years as a member, treasurer, and chair. This opportunity has allowed her to work and learn beside many different artists and non-profits in the region. The valuable information she has gathered while on this board has helped the Suncor Energy Centre for the Performing Arts grow into the Arts hub that you see today, and in years to come.
