CREATIVE MOVEMENT (3 years old)
This joyful and creative class helps stimulate your child’s imagination and enhances balance, flexibility and motor skills. They will explore movement through music while developing rhythm and coordination.
KINDER COMBO (4 years old)
This fun filled class is an extension of Creative Movement. The children are now ready for more coordinated combinations of steps and movements. Our focus is to increase body awareness, technique and memory. More emphasis is placed on tempo and musical timing. Children begin to learn the basic movements for ballet and jazz. The concepts will prepare students for the following year when they graduate to Pre-Primary Ballet and Jr. Ballet/Jazz.
GROOVY GUYS (4-6 year old boys)
Inspired by famous leading men Fred Astaire, Derek Hough, and Twitch, Groovy Guys is an age specific all-boys dance class containing tap, jazz and hip hop movement. Geared toward a young boys’ active and physical nature, the purpose of the class is to introduce young male dancers to the three styles of dance through movements like jumping, turning, and kicking.
BALLET (5-Adult)
This program follows the syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance. It provides students with a high standard of training as well as helping to build strong self-esteem and confidence. The program focuses on the study of classical technique through barre and centre exercises, as well as rhythm and free movement dance. It is designed to instil a love and appreciation of dance.
POINTE CONDITIONING (10+)
This class is for students interested in going en Pointe. In this class we will focus on strengthening the dancers feet, ankles, turnout, and core strength. It will prepare the dancers for the work that is needed when going en Pointe.
POINTE (Teacher Recommended)
Pointe is run similarly to other ballet classes in terms of focus and discipline. This class is for the more advanced ballet dancer and requires an additional ballet class and ballet technique class, as well as faculty permission in order to participate. As our young dancers grow, we emphasize the importance of making decisions that will ensure our dancers’ future health.
JAZZ (5+)
Jazz dance is rooted from both African American and Caribbean traditional dance. It can be either fast paced and energetic, or smooth and graceful. Today’s jazz influences other dance techniques including contemporary, musical theatre and hip hop. Jazz dancers benefit greatly from a working knowledge of ballet technique and core strengthening.
LYRICAL (8+)
This is a dance style that blends ballet and jazz dance. It is generally smoother and a bit faster than ballet, but not quite as fast as jazz. A lyrical dancer uses movement to express strong emotions such as love, joy and anger.
Lyrical dancers usually perform to music with lyrics and the lyrics of the chosen song serve as inspiration for movements and expressions. Music used for lyrical is typically emotionally charged and expressive and may consist of many genres including pop, rock and hip hop. Powerful, expressive songs are often used in lyrical dance to give dancers a chance to express a range of strong emotions through their dancing.
HIP HOP (6+)
Hip Hop is an urban ethnic dance form that marked its beginning as part of the hip hop culture in the early 1900s, when the youth in and around Bronx, New York started dancing on the streets. It is an ideal way to express one’s creativity. It features self-impressions and the dances come from the soul. There is breaking, popping, locking, and free styling in hip hop dances, moves which were created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States. A great dance style to improve flexibility, develop balance and muscle coordination.
CONTEMPORARY (8+)
Contemporary dance is a dance style rooted in technique while blending elements of ballet, jazz, modern, and lyrical dance. It often draws inspiration from music or a concept, using movement to express ideas or emotions. While there are few strict rules, contemporary dance is highly expressive and emotionally driven.
MUSICAL THEATRE (6+)
This discipline is a combination of acting and dancing. This class is based on jazz technique and is influenced by the showmanship of Broadway and movie musicals. This class is movement and musicality based, singing is not a component.
TAP (6+)
This program utilizes both the Al Gilbert syllabus and ADAPT syllabus. This toe-tapping syllabus will teach you all the techniques you will need to make music with your feet. Plus, who doesn’t like to make a little noise?
ACRO (6+)
Acro dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precise acrobatic elements. It is defined by its athletic character, its unique choreography, which seamlessly blends dance and acrobatics, and its use of acrobatics in a dance context. Our Acro program follows the Acrobatic Arts Syllabus.
ACRO TECHNIQUE (6+)
Acro Technique is a non-performance class focused on building strength, flexibility, balance, and control through safe and progressive acrobatic training. Designed to support and enhance the skills learned in regular dance classes, this class will work on individual skill improvement based on each dancer’s level. Dancers will develop proper form and body awareness while learning acro elements, including handstands, cartwheels, backbends, and walkovers. Emphasis is placed on technique and safe progressions, helping dancers build confidence and expand their overall dance abilities.
ELEVATE TECHNIQUE (10+)
This class is ideal for dancers aiming to strengthen their technique in jazz, lyrical, or contemporary styles, and is open to all dancers 10 and older. The class focuses on improving flexibility, balance, coordination, trick elements, and choreography retention. Dancers will also have dedicated time to work on leaps and turns that may not be fully addressed in their regular classes. Please note, this is a non-performance class.
ADULT BALLET (18+)
Experience the grace and discipline of ballet in this welcoming class designed for adult dancers of all levels. You'll build strength, flexibility, and poise through traditional barre and center work. Whether you're new to ballet or returning after a break, this class offers a supportive space to grow your technique and love for dance. No need for leotards or tights—just come in whatever you feel comfortable and can dance in.
ADULT HIP HOP (18+)
A high-energy, fun class focused on mastering hip hop techniques and urban grooves. Encouraging participants to develop their rhythm, coordination, and expressiveness while enjoying upbeat music and easy-to-follow choreography. The class includes a mix of foundational moves like popping, locking, and breaking, along with freestyle and choreography.
ADULT JAZZ (18+)
A dynamic, fun, and expressive dance class that encourages students to explore their movement and musicality. Focussing on developing strength, flexibility, and coordination while learning jazz dance techniques. Students will learn a variety of steps, turns, and choreographies, often set to a mix of jazz music and current popular hits. The emphasis is on both technique and individual expression, allowing students to develop their own personal style.
ADULT TAP (18+)
A fun and energetic way to enhance rhythm, coordination and overall fitness. Whether you’re a beginner or returning to dance, this class will provide a supportive environment to develop your skills. You’ll develop your confidence and style through fundamental tap techniques and combinations. Join us for a lively workout that combines classic moves with modern grooves.
