Dan Gillies is a freelance musician, guitarist, music director and music teacher who makes his home in Fort McMurray, AB.
As a working musician for over a decade, Dan has a resume of diverse proportions. With a background in jazz, one can find him performing in an ensemble at a black-tie event – and with an alluring archtop! As a country guitar aficionado, he can be caught onstage at country music events with a killer band!

Dan Gillies is also a sought-after Instructor with tremendous experience teaching private lessons and running workshops. Currently, Dan directs the Fort McMurray Community Jazz Band, and is the Music Teacher at Composite High School. In addition to this, Dan offers private lessons from his studio in the Keyano Theatre and Arts Centre.
Dan holds a Jazz Performance Diploma from Grant MacEwan University; as well as a Music Diploma with a Major in Classical Guitar.
