Friends of SECPA

Friends of the Suncor Energy Centre for the Performing Arts (FoSECPA) is a non-profit organization established to provide affordable and accessible programming at the Suncor Energy Centre for the Performing Arts. They are an oversight board that works closely with the General Manager of SECPA to ensure programs meet the needs of the Wood Buffalo Community.

MISSION

The FoSECPA strives to establish and maintain accessible arts and culture programming at the Suncor Energy Centre for the Performing Arts in order to meet the diverse needs of the Wood Buffalo Region.

DRIVING FORCES

The work of the FoSECPA is founded upon three primary driving forces:

  1. Programming should address a gap that is currently present in the region.
  2. Programming should strive to employ local artists such that they can earn a living wage.
  3. Programming should be accessible to all residents of the region.

VISION

FoSECPA members will assist in the development and evaluation of annual arts and culture programs presented at the Suncor Energy Centre for the Performing Arts (SECPA). Board members serve an advisory capacity in order to ensure that programming supported by FoSECPA funding is relevant and responsive to the needs of the community.  The FoSECPA meets quarterly to provide advice to the Manager of the SECPA on how to best utilize the board’s funding streams in order to address arts and culture gaps identified in the region.
