By popular demand, Theatre; Just Because is thrilled to offer a brand new, expanded version of our Jr Players Summer Camp! This program is perfect for everyone from the theatre-curious to the junior divas & clowns.
Jr Players is built on the same foundation as TJB’s Youth Players Programs, following a pedagogy that empowers students to see themselves as the creative forces behind their work. Participants gain a comprehensive introduction to theatre: exploring movement, voice, acting, and design. Jr Players culminates in a final performance created by the students and guided by our instructing team.
About the Program
Jr Players kicks off in Fall 2023 on November 5th and runs weekly on Sundays from 10:30 AM-1:30 PM. The final performance takes place on the afternoon of December 17. Rather than working with a formal playscript, students will build their skills by working with children’s stories, working together to discover how they can bring stories to life. This program offers a holistic foundation for the performing arts, dramatic exploration, and creative expression.
Jr Players is hosted at the Suncor Energy Centre for the Performing Arts and is presented by the Friends of the Suncor Energy Centre for the Performing Arts.
Stay tuned for more information about Jr Players! Registration opens Tuesday, August 8th, 2024.
